After researching the emotion in music, I used reasoning to pick the emotions needed ,and wanted, for the final effect in the song. The song will make use of the acoustic guitar, and possibly vocals or drums. I hope that the song does not fit with the normal songwriting and song feel that todays music might, as I hope to take the listener on a rollercoaster of emotion through the song of my day

I researched the psychological effects of music. In order to do this I made use of information available on musical therapy. (+) I then researched Robbie Basho's work with color and mood in his Esoteric Doctrine (shown on right). Next came the synthesizing of these two sources of information in order to create the song about my life.

I wrote journal entries for my practices in order to recap what I learned in the lesson and how it related to what was going on in my life (pictured on left). I also wrote an all encompassing journal entry to understand what I learned and how I learned it. That will be intertwined with how it influenced my life and things that were going on in my life.
how i learned GUITARI used Nate Savage's "Learn How To Play Guitar" series on YouTube. The channel is called GuitarLessons.com. The playlist that I first used was called Beginner Guitar Lessons.
I also took a week of lessons from the Apple program, Garage Band. The lessons went in chord sets of 2 or 3 and taught you how to play as you went. It also utilized the microphone in the device to hear if you were playing the notes, or chords, correctly. Out of the two methods I appreciated Nate Savage's YouTube videos the most. Nate Savage was personable and he was patient. It may sound strange that I say a video was patient, but he was. He went about teaching guitar in a way that was easy to understand and provided multiple ways to do things as you progressed. |
