Type affects the way you read something.
Above you will see two typefaces. To the left is a modified version of Times New Roman, and to the right is a modified version of Helvetica Neue.
EnglishWhen reading a book, a piece of paper, a logo, or sign, we don't usually think too much about the font. I started with the hypothesis that, typography does affect the way you read something. So I took one of my favorite poems, "O'Captain" by Walt Whitman. I used 8 different, iconic fonts and printed out 8 versions of the poems varying only in font.

ArtTypography is it's own form of art, and more recently we aren't appreciating it as much. Originally for Art I wished to make a poem on letterpress, and take lines from the poem that are more sharp, in a serifed typeface, and lines that weren't sharp or as much emotion, make those in a San-serifed typeface. I was unable to find a letter press, so I made the letters above.

Social StudiesHistory, at first was a tough aspect to relate typography to, until I looked at some older maps. In maps you could effect the way someone feels about a certain side depending on the typography used. You could look at a map you've never seen before and automatically know which side made the map, and which side was the enemy.
