I've always been a biased person. I have my strong opinions and I've never been someone who tried to hear out anybody else's opinions and views because I didn't want to stray from mine.
I wanted to change that.
I wanted to be more open to different ideas and opinions and I wanted to view other people's perspectives, no matter how outrageous it is. To view another person's perspective isn't to share the same view as them, but instead you're just stepping into their shoes or trying out their shoes for a split second so you can see where they're coming from.
Therefore, for my first project, I decided to focus on the racial oppression and the cultural appropriation that people of different races faced everyday. I focused on their perspective, their struggles, and their experiences. I interviewed a variety of different kinds of people and recorded their experiences and opinions, no matter how racist or rude it was.
