The Inspiration
This project was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my three teachers. Originally I had planned to do a project based on the television series Sonic Highways. I was going to research regions, their culture and geography and make a song based on what I would discover. For instance if I were to do India I would make the song busy and bustling because that is something that represents the region.
But after a striking conversation with that teacher I realized that the focus of my project was a little off center. Since I was a child I have always been extremely interested in religion. Just the idea of everyone believing and having faith in things they can't see. So I decided to do my first project on Hinduism and write a song based on that religion.

My History
Doing the history was the trickiest part of the whole entire project. Religion is so extensive and broad it goes on for miles. People who have been apart of a religion their whole life still do not know the entirety of their religion. So thats where the problem arose and I asked myself how I was going to manage trying to explore the whole religion in 3 weeks. I came to accept that I wouldn't. So I took a few of the lesser known parts of hinduism that I mentioned in my song and clarified them in infographics.
My Art
For my the art section of my project my mission was to display my song writing process. I started doing this first by using video documentation of my process on an app called "Jurni" which is made for blogging everyday journeys. But I saw that it didn't really feel natural to express my songwriting that way. It came out feeling forced and faked. So instead I made voice recordings of initial ideas for songs whenever they struck me. Also I kept all the lyrics I came up with on pieces of notebook paper and sticky notes and I kept them in a box.
At the end when I read back over the lyrics and ideas I decided to color code them. I took water colors and coordinated the colors to how the words made me feel.

My English
For my English I wrote and sang a song and excersized my knowledge of poetic sound devices.
