Love With Your Eyes Closed
My goal in this project is to give an experience to others that they can't have or normally don't have because of where we live. I want to show that love is blind through food.
I am creating a "Dining in the Dark" experience for my fellow Apollo-ers to give them an experience like no other. I want them to not see the food, but really taste it. When you have a lack of vision, your other senses are enhanced and I want them to feel that when they eat the food. I want them to feel the passion and just enjoy the food rather than eating it quickly like we tend to do in America.
This experience symbolizes love and how I view love. I want people to fall in love with their "eyes closed" so to speak and fall in love not just by looking, but feeling. I want the viewers to realize the importance and the impact the lack of vision can have and how it allows for a more passionate feeling that is hard to find. I hope to show to others the importance of love and how passionate it can be when you love for the right reasons.
I believe that in today's generation, we fall in love for the wrong reasons and I want to allow others to experience the feeling that you can have when you love the soul rather than loving the outside. I feel as if when you fall in love with your eyes closed it means so much more and it's a different feeling similar to the feeling when you eat with your eyes closed, it adds a totally different experience.
My goal is to prove that when you can fall in love with your eyes closed it means so much more and it is true love and you should hold onto it because it's something rare that many few are able to experience.
Maple Bacon Cookie: My focus was to bring another meal to a cookie and show to others that you can bring savory into something sweet since cookies are normally sweet
Triple Chocolate Diablo Cookie: I tricked the students because all they see is chocolate and they think all they will taste is chocolate but once they eat it, they realize its a spicy cookie
Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookie: My goal was to force the students to focus on what's on the inside rather than what's on the outside
