Extra! Extra!
For my first project, I analyzed the Flapper Era.
To start things off, I wanted to have more knowledge of the era so I spent the first few days looking into their impact on that time period. So, after I had became more acquainted with the Flapper culture, I began to consider my English portion and I had met with Mr. Ward a few times to finally figure out that I was going to create a magazine article about an average young women who had decided to participate in the trend and lose her job in result. But, I had to figure out what magazine company to do, and how to write like a news reporter. I went to meet with the journalist teacher who had written plenty of articles in her time. Unfortunately, I had ended up altering my plans slightly and she was too busy to have a good chat with. Meanwhile, I went to look into newspapers and magazines from the early 1920's and I ended up stumbling upon The Saturday Evening Post. Ironically, hit sensation artist Norman Rockwell created so many covers for that magazine. I ended up really liking the idea and decided for my art portion, my major piece was going to be a spinoff of one of their covers. To go along with my news report and my cover, I created some ads from the same time period of other events that were going on.
